The Immigration Services Agency of Japan announced that Japan and Thailand have signed a Memorandum of Cooperation for the Employment for Skill Development Program.
The program is scheduled to begin in April 2027.
The MOC was signed on June 2, 2026.
Under this agreement, both governments will cooperate to prevent improper intermediaries, unauthorized sending organizations, and employers that violate program rules.
More countries are expected to sign similar MOCs in the future.
Once an MOC is concluded, the formal accreditation process for sending organizations can begin in the partner country.
People who are considering working in Japan under ESDP should follow future announcements about MOCs and accredited sending organizations.
