Around 90 Companies to Participate in Recruiting Highly Skilled Foreign Talent
The Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) will host the JETRO Online Job Fair 2026 Winter over three days from Monday, January 26 to Wednesday, January 28, targeting international students in Japan and Japanese language learners overseas.
The event aims to connect Japanese companies seeking to expand overseas and drive innovation with highly skilled foreign talent. It is regarded as one of the largest job fairs in Japan for international students.
Around 90 Companies from 29 Prefectures, Held in Japanese and English
Approximately 90 Japanese companies from 29 prefectures nationwide will participate in the job fair.
Company presentations will be conducted in both Japanese and English.
- Day 1 & Day 2 (January 26–27): 80 companies will give presentations in Japanese
- Day 3 (January 28): 10 companies will give presentations in English
Participating companies span a wide range of industries and regions, including many based outside major metropolitan areas.
A Well-Established Event Entering Its Sixth Year
The JETRO Online Job Fair marks its sixth year in 2026.
In previous editions, participating companies have reported positive outcomes such as:
- Successfully meeting highly skilled foreign talent
- Receiving far more applications than expected
- Gaining practical knowledge and experience in recruiting foreign professionals
In particular, the JETRO Online Job Fair 2025 Autumn, held in October 2025, resulted in numerous job offers and hires, reinforcing the event’s reputation as an effective recruitment platform.
Responding to Labor Shortages and the Demand for Global Talent
As Japan faces severe labor shortages driven by an aging population and declining birthrate, expectations for highly skilled foreign professionals continue to rise—especially among companies pursuing global expansion and new business development.
In addition to hosting the job fair, JETRO is supporting companies through initiatives such as hands-on assistance provided by Highly Skilled Foreign Talent Support Coordinators, helping promote the active participation of foreign professionals and the growth of Japanese businesses.
